This past Memorial Day weekend was one of the best we've had in recent memory. Since Abby is growing like a weed and getting more and more independent and playful, we had a blast relaxing and spending time as a family. It was especially great to see Abby and her Daddy playing together. She is really becoming a "Daddy's girl" and clings to him every chance she gets. It's a bit sad that she doesn't cling to me as much as she used to, but then again, it is so nice to get a break every now and then;-)
In the morning, we journeyed a whole 5 minutes to the lake for some fun in the sun. Abby enjoyed splashing in the water, watching all the boats and birds, and even playing on the playground.

In the afternoon after her nap, we decided to hang out in our backyard and enjoy some summer food and BBQ. Abby got a little more water fun in her baby pool while her mommy got some much needed rest and relaxation. I think we discovered our new afternoon hangout, especially as it gets hotter and it gets harder and harder for me and belly to get around.
What's on tap for this next weekend? More family fun!!! THIS is why we decided to have kids:-)

That DOES look like a lot of good family fun!! I'm glad you had a great time and only had a short drive to get there! ;-) The backyard looks like a perfect R&R spot for mom and dad... and Chesnut! ;-) We'll have to get the girls in the baby pool together soon... that would be fun.
