Easter Fun!

What a great Easter weekend we had:-) Although this was not Abby's first Easter, it was the first where she was much more aware of things, and we had a blast starting some Easter traditions with her.
On Saturday, we joined some of Abby's baby friends for a Easter Egg hunt at a local church. There were a ton of kids there and the excitement was contagious! Abby got to ride on a little blue choo-choo train:

She got to sit in the driver's seat of a great, big Firetruck:

And she participated in her very first Easter egg hunt:

On Sunday, we all got dressed up and went to church. Abby even wore a dress, although it only stayed on for the hour we were at church (she's not a big fan of dresses these days):

We then had our own little easter egg hunt...after all of Saturday's "practice", Abby confidently found ALL the eggs I had hidden! Such a smart little girl!

It was so much fun to be able to share these experiences with her this year. I can't wait to see her excitement in the years that follow as she grows older and we continue our holiday traditions with Abby and her little brother or sister:-)Of course, with all the fun and excitement of the egg hunts, Easter baskets and bunnies, we can't forget the real reason we celebrate this most important holiday...the ressurection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. What a special time for us Christians to reflect upon the sacrifice that was made for us and the triumph over death we now have...He is RISEN, indeed!!!!
