You don't have to be around little Jake for too long before you figure out that this little boy loves to kick a ball. He could kick a ball around the house for an hour at time and not get bored, and he's actually really good at it! So, of course I began looking for activities that would continue to develop his ball-kicking talents. I discovered Soccer Tots, a program for kids 18 months and up, and signed him up right away. The first day of class was a disaster, as Jake couldn't quite understand why we couldn't just kick the ball around for an hour and instead had to sit in a circle with the other kids (gasp), wait his turn (what?!), and follow instructions from the coach (oh, the humanity of it all!), but by the third class he was doing much better and the tantrums were kept to a minimum. He really is having so much fun.
Abby, while not quite as coordinated as her little brother, has been trying out a new physical activity as well. This activity is totally suited for her as it allows her to get dressed up in a cute, girly little get-up. She began attending Ballet/Tap class with her best neighborhood friends Ashlyn, Anna, and Avery, and she has been loving every minute of it...

While I'm not expecting my babies to grow up and become rich and famous doing these things (and support me in my old age), it is really fun for them to try these new experiences. It makes me a little sad that they are growing up so quickly and into so many things now, but it makes me extremely proud as well.
