After enjoying 75 degree temperatures on December 23rd, Christmas Eve brought freezing temps and icy conditions (it's true what they say about the crazy Texas weather). Even though it was not much fun juggling kids and food in the freezing rain on my last-minute grocery store trip, I was excited for the cold winter weather as it added to the excitement of the holiday. Abby was so excited for the snow, especially since she had been introduced to Frosty the snowman a few weeks earlier. Early Christmas morning, Abby had to check outside, to make sure that the snow was still there.
After opening presents, we headed outside to play in the snow. Matt dug the sled out of the garage (which we had not used since living in Salt Lake City), and took Abby on a wild ride.
Abby got to build her first snowman as well. So much fun:-)
I heard on the news that this was the most snow that the DFW area had gotten in over 80 years! Glad we were here to enjoy such an event.
