Easter Weekend

The holidays just keep getting better and better as the kids keep growing and growing. This Easter weekend was no exception. Now that Jake is a little older and more able to participate in the festivities, we just had a ball with our sweet little family.

On Saturday, we attended an Easter celebration close to our home. There were bounce houses, train rides, and of course, an Easter egg hunt. Last year, Abby wasn't walking yet, so the egg hunt wasn't as much fun. This year however, she fully understood the concept of the egg hunt and did pretty well! She even shared part of her loot with Jake. Such a sweet big sister. She met the Easter bunny....and absolutley LOVED him (or is it a her?). She kept trying to find the bunny so she could give the bunny a hug or high five. We also got to check out a big fire truck...another favorite of Abby's.Later that afternoon, we decided to enjoy the nice weather at the local botanical garden. So nice to just hang out, eat ice cream, see the flowers and the fishies, and play at the park.

Easter Sunday, we got the kids into their Easter outfits and headed to church. We enjoyed a nice Easter message and reflected on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and His triumph over death. Later that afternoon after naps, it was time for our Easter egg hunt. Abby was very excited about the special Elmo eggs she discovered. Then it was time to go out to enjoy more of the beauiful weather. We headed to a town square near by and just wandered around. Abby had a great time running around and looking at the large fountains, and Jake enjoyed watching his crazy sister. We attempted dinner at a restaurant, and both kids did awesome! Happy Easter to us!

Such a sweet weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord with my favorite people in the whole entire world.
