Today, you are two. Wow. Has it really been that long since that hot July day that you joined our family? And what a blessing you have been to us since then. I can't believe what a big boy you are becoming- so full of energy and life. You have changed so much in the past year, and everyday you give me so many reasons to be proud of you. At age two, little Jakey..
...you are a little bit crazy. Okay, let's be honest...REALLY crazy. Everywhere you go, you leave a path a destruction in your wake. I had never met a child who quite literally bounces off the walls until I met you. I don't know where all that energy comes from, but I really admire you for it.
...are quite the charmer. Everywhere we go, people are always telling me just how darn cute you are. You love to flirt with the ladies with your little smile. We will really need to watch you when you get older...
...you are really blossoming in your communication skills. You are learning to talk, and are SO proud of yourself for doing so. When you learn something new, you repeat it over and over and over. And while you are starting to sound more and more like a big kid, I'm glad that you still have your "baby" way of saying some things (i.e. "watee" - water, "Abba"- Abby, and one of our favorites: "Chit -A" for Chick Fil-a).
....speaking of Chick Fil-a, you love yourself some chicken nuggets and waffle fries. Chick Fil-a is your absolute favorite place to go (and we go there often). You get very excited if we are within a mile radius of the place and try to direct me to drive the car there. Perhaps we should eat there a little bit less...
...you are such a boy. From cars to balls to things that go "Roar", you love everything that's typically boy. You are content to throw a ball and chase it all...day...long. Such a difference from your girly older sister.
...you absolutely adore our dog, Chestnut. And even though I'm sure he doesn't appreciate when you pull and tug and climb all over him, I bet one day he'll grow to appreciate your rough-and-tumble nature.
...you love your Sissy and your Dada. There are no two people you admire more. And I know for a fact that the feeling is mutual...
...you are such a little fish. Playing in and around water is one of your favorite activities. Good thing we live in such a hot place...
...you are such a fun little boy with such a happy spirit. Nothing gets you down for long, and you seem to ALWAYS have a smile on your face. I can't help but be in a great mood when I'm around you and I'm a better person because I know you.
Happy Birthday, sweet Jacob Westin. I can't wait to see how God uses you and that wonderful little spirit He gave you. You are meant to do great things, and I am so proud to be your Mommy. I love you, little man, with all my heart.
Love,
Mommy
